My Magic Chocolate Mousse uses only two ingredients, coconut milk and chocolate, yet manages to be airy, light, chocolatey and absolutely sinful. There is no need for dairy or eggs, typically used in traditional chocolate mousse recipes, so it’s super clean and great for people with food allergies. I’ve made other chocolate mousse/puddings recipes that called for heavy cream, egg yolk, espresso powder… but there was always something off about them. Too bitter, too many ingredients, too complicated…
This killer vegan dessert takes just a couple of minutes to make and requires no whisking until your arm is ready to fall off. In fact, it’s so simple, I bet you can make it with your toddler. All you have to do is gently heat a can of coconut milk and chopped chocolate in a small pot until melted, then refrigerate overnight to set. That’s it! If you want to be fancy, sprinkle some shaved chocolate on top and you will have a divine dessert that’s perfection.

full fat coconut milk,
preferably organic and BPA-free
In a small saucepan, add coconut milk and chocolate and heat over simmer, stirring until well combined (do not boil).
Blend in a blender for 10 seconds to ensure smooth consistency (optional).
Divide into 4 small teacups or ramekins and refrigerate overnight (or until the mousse is set).
If desired, garnish with chocolate shavings or fresh berries.
